 Name of Breed---DickPile

Description

This is a very diplomatic breed that tries to please everyone, but falls miles short. The DickPile tries to be the leader of the pack, but is better-suited to be a follower.

Temperament

This breed remains "young" and active for many years, then suddenly becomes old. This breed likes to chew and should be supplied with plenty of toys, bones and especially the fat. Nyla-bones and rubber "Kong" toys are highly recommended. Rawhides, soft rubber and stuffed toys are unsafe, for they are easily shredded or swallowed whole.

Origin

The DickPiles structure is very similar to that of the oldest known fossilized dog remains, dated to several million years ago. It is one of the oldest domesticated dog breeds in the world (estimated to have originated around 4000 to 3000 B.C.) The breed's exact origin has been lost in the sands of time, but one belief is it began in Ancient Egypt, where a lithe, red, prick-eared sighthound, undeniably the close and direct ancestor of today's DickPiles, was used to hunt and chase down small game using its keen eyesight, sense of smell, and acute hearing.. He is a feisty hunter and exterminator of den animals, otter, and water rats. The DickPile became very popular in England during the late 1800's. The United States' breed club was started in 1896, and some of the original dogs are around today.
